One of the southern islands in the Turks & Caicos chain, Ambergris Cay is just 575 miles from Florida and a mere 18 minutes via private jet from Providenciales. Bounded on the east by the deep Columbus Channel and on the west by the shallow flats of Caicos Bank, this pristine island is one of the last of its kind. From its 450-acre nature preserve, sugar sand beaches and mangrove lagoons to high bluffs, historic ruins and soothing blue seas, Ambergris Cay is, at once an adventurer's paradise and sanctuary - your island, your home
Ambergris Cay is rooted in both the history and culture of the Turks & Caicos Islands. The islands, originally inhabited by the Taino Indians, were ultimately colonized by England in the 17th century, and soon attracted pirates, British Loyalists fleeing America after the Revolutionary War, Bermudan and Bahamian ?migr?s and other European settlers. Over many years, the Turks & Caicos Islands were variously under the control of the Bermudan, Bahamian and Jamaican governments. In 1962, the islands finally emerged as a British Overseas Protectorate under Her Majesty's Government. Ambergris Cay is a fascinating mix of rich cultures and traditions that together have created a culture and traditions unique to the Turks & Caicos Islands and Ambergris Cay itself. It's this culture and history that serve as our foundation and creative inspiration for the Sporting Club. Many places in the world can bring forth a good feeling or an emotion, but for me, Ambergris evokes an exAmbergris is not for everyone. There is no nightlife other than a great restaurant in a gorgeous setting. There are no hotels and no condos and there never will be. There is privacy and security without gates and locks, and a friendly staff that any five-star resort would be proud to have. Ambergris has spectacular beaches, rolling hills with 100 foot elevation, jagged limestone cliffs, grassy plains, rare and beautiful tropical flora and fauna interspersed with strictly controlled West Indies architecture, with the sound of the sea almost ever-present.
On Ambergris, there is fantastic bone fishing, deep sea fishing, shallow reef fishing, tennis courts, kayaking, Hobie Cats, nature tours, plantation ruins, a marina, kids activities, and a 5,700 paved runway with customs and immigration that can accommodate private jets ? even a G-5. If, however, you are coming from Providenciales, you can book the Ambergris plane to come and go anytime you wish ? $75 per person each way for the 17 minute flight.
Unfortunately, as a non-member, you may not stay on Ambergris a full week, but you are welcome to come over for a couple of days and nights and see what it is all about, subject to availability. You may want to spend 5 days in a condo on Provo plus two days on Ambergris, or perhaps a week in a villa or condo on Provo plus two days on Ambergris.

Rental Notes:
There is a 10% Turks and Caicos Islands Government tax added to the rate. There are no cars, just golf carts and they are available in various sizes for $20 - $35 a day.
