Nine family suite tents offer a slightly roomier but no less intimate Outpost experience. Family suite tents offer the same queen bed comfort as the deluxe guest tents, but are furnished with a convertible chesterfield (with premium queen mattress), and a larger lounge area with a small games table. Five family suite tents sit perched on a hillside overlooking the Bedwell estuary. Four more rest up-stream, at the end of an undulating ribbon of cedar boardwalk.
Like the deluxe guest tents, family suite tents tender Adirondack-style beds dressed with luxurious down duvets. Remote-controlled propane wood-stoves, antique dressers, opulent area rugs, pressed-glass oil lamps, heirloom accessories, and candles galore promise romance and suite dreams.

Description of Clayoquot Wilderness Resort/Canada:
A wilderness so lush and exotic, so dense with visible wildlife
that National Geographic magazine deemed it an upside-down rainforest (
In the decade since opening, the resort has grown its 'soft adventure and soft beds' program into one of the most exclusive and unique vacation offerings in the world.
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort promises discriminating travellers an ultra-luxurious eco-destination, four-star accommodations, otherworldly coastal cuisine, super natural adventure, and some of the most breathtakingly beautiful wilderness frontier left on the planet. Some five miles as the eagle flies, or 30 minutes by boat from Tofino rests the ?ber-luxe 21st-century-eco-safari style Wilderness Outpost at Bedwell River.
Situated at the mouth of the Bedwell, where it spills into a nine-mile-long fjord, an enclave of 20 great white canvas guest tents, massage and treatment tents, dining tents, lounge tents and a massive timber cookhouse offers a delicious paradox of indulgent luxury and remote, untamed wilderness.
While it is hard to imagine a more intimate destination than the intensely romantic Outpost, the resort has become a recurring favourite for families.
Resort accommodations, food and beverage programs, activities and adventures and conservancy programs offer something for all ages and inclinations. Couples, grandparents, school-age children, teens - regardless of experience - find their ideal program of custom-designed fun and adventure at the Outpost.
The months of May and September may be preferred by couples, while the summer months might better suit families.
Growing alongside our understanding of the nature of things, has been our acclaimed Environmental Legacy Program. A $3 million, resort-wide, five-year commitment to research, conservation and enhancement which invites guest participation at any level, and is funded solely by resort revenues.
Environmental programs ensure that a visit to Clayoquot Wilderness Resort is more than just a vacation of a lifetime -- it underwrites an enduring legacy.
Clayoquot Wilderness Resort/Canada Amenities:
An enclave of 20 great white canvas deluxe guest and family suite tents, plus dining tents, spa tents, and lounge tents offers visitors a taste of how the fortunate spent their summers 'roughing it' some one hundred years agoThe heart of the outpost is a new ranch-style log cookhouse, with its towering double-sided fieldstone fireplace, outdoor lounge and showpiece open-kitchen.
Five-star food and beverage service, world-class amenities, sumptuous interiors, and super natural adventure, leave nothing wanting, no detail undone.
National Geographic Traveler magazine calls the resorts "rusticating luxury". We call it home and we know you will too.
Healing Ground:
Zen in the WildernessVery near to the place where the cookhouse casts its shadow on the shore of the Bedwell River, sits the beautiful Healing Grounds, an eco-safari style massage and therapeutic treatment centre with the soul of an outpost spa and and a personality all its own.
Four massage and treatment tents, three wood-fired cedar hot tubs, a wood-fired cedar sauna, outdoor showers, seawater baths and wrap-around sun decks artfully compose a rest and relation destination of intimate proportions.
Here, the muffled footfall of passers-by on the boardwalk, the screach of an eagle, the faraway thunder of galloping horses and the laughter of children, gently pepper the meditative hum of the wilderness as the afternoon passes by -- a new kind of peace more restorative than silence.
All 11 deluxe tents offer a choice of one queen or two single Adirondack-style beds with luxuriant down duvets. Remote-controlled propane wood- stoves, antique dressers and tea tables, opulent rugs, oil lamps, heirloom china and silver accessories, and an abundance of candles, complete the offering.
Off-site generators send hot water to private showers and sinks, and provide a/c power for essential comforts like electric light, hairdryers and wireless internet to both guest and suite tents. Modern composting toilets, set in charming cedar outbuildings, rest anonymously behind each tent.
By design there is no in-room telephone or television, but cellular phone access is available in the cookhouse. The resorts communicate with each other, their marine fleet, the Canadian Coastguard and other essential services via a failsafe VHF radio system.
Should you forget a toothbrush, sunscreen, film or other personal item, rest assured that the gift shop will have a supply. Packaged post cards, logo wear, hats, First Nations carvings and other items are available for purchase in the gift shop as well.
