This stunning plantation estate is approached via a long driveway through secluded private grounds and occupies a prime beachfront location onto the Gulf of Mexico. The spacious, contemporary house is beautifully furnished in colonial style and the designer has included many traditional architectural features such as attractive shuttering and iron balustrades. A huge stone-floored living room occupies most of the ground level and has a pair of double glass doors opening onto a covered terrace with attractive stone arches, to the pool beyond. The living room is very comfortably furnished with many interesting objects and works of art collected by the owner, which combine to create a warm welcome. The partially creeper-clad walls give an air of maturity and establishment in this peaceful hideaway with flavours of the Deep South and the Caribbean. The estate benefits from a separate, self-contained beach cottage (which is not let independently) from where dolphins can be spotted at play and spectacular sunsets enjoyed. The swimming pool is set into a large, level lawn and is flanked on two sides by the L-shape of the house, and there are well-kept gardens to the front of the property which offer a glimpse of the beach and the ocean through a fringe tall pines and tropical shrubs. A path leads through the garden to the beach house and the beautiful sandy beach.
Main house
Upper floor: There are two staircases to the upper level; a spiral staircase from the dining room and a conventional staircase from the living room. Beautifully decorated and continuing the colonial theme, the master double bedroom has en suite bathroom and doors overlooking the pool. Double bedroom with en suite bathroom, twin bedroom with doors overlooking the pool and a separate bathroom. One area of the upper floor is unavailable to guests.
Lower floor: A huge stone-floored living room occupies most of the ground level and has a pair of double glass doors opening onto a covered terrace with attractive stone arches, and to the pool beyond. The living room is very comfortably furnished with many interesting objects and works of art collected by the owner, which combine to create a warm welcome. A den for reading and also offers a desk where a computer may be set up and provides a retreat from the main living area. Separate wc. The similarly spacious kitchen is well-equipped for family entertaining with a large table for less formal dining and a central granite-topped island unit with bar stools. The kitchen also has double doors to the covered terrace running the length of one side of the building. A more formal dining area is adjacent to the kitchen with the Colonial style polished wood furniture beautifully set off by the stone floor and mellow walls.

The beach house is all on one level and features a master double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a twin bedroom with en suite bathroom and a living/dining room with separate kitchen. The master bedroom and the living room both open onto a covered porch and the beach path. The house has been tastefully and comfortably furnished with Floridian antiques and curios, giving a casual and relaxed beachside atmosphere.
Please note: The caretaker lives on site above the carriage house adjacent to the pool, but is discreet about his presence.
